Our Story
Established in 2022, the Sudanese Farming Group is a private company committed to connecting Sudanese Americans to one another while reconnecting them with their agricultural heritage— most of whom only a generation or two removed from their farming roots. The group aims to ensure that the rich culture, traditions, and values are preserved for future generations.
Currently, the community consists of approximately 20-30 Sudanese families who work together diligently and comprehensively to harvest organic crops of great cultural significance, including Egyptian spinach, okra, tomatoes, and Armenian cucumbers. These crops are grown on the group's half-acre incubator farm located at The Food Group warehouse in New Hope, MN. The harvested produce is then either sold to the local community or distributed among all those who participated in the harvest.
